Federated Model & Clash Detection

At Digitise Consulting, we pride ourselves on our ability to develop accurate and data-rich 3D federated models. We have developed parametric tools which, complemented by our workflows, enable us to efficiently develop accurate digital representations of physical assets through the creation of individual BIM discipline models across multiple model authoring platforms. Our team has extensive experience with the Transport for NSW Digital Engineering Framework and how to best apply these requirements, including asset classification (metadata) to the BIM models. To ensure the quality of the data, we adopt in-house data validation tools to confirm the classification has been correctly applied to each object within the BIM model.

To support our holistic design approach, we utilise these BIM models to create an immersive Federated Model, bringing all disciplines into a single design environment and removing the siloed approach to design. Using the Federated Model to identify conflicts in the design through automated clash analysis, linking to the work breakdown structure (WBS) to develop construction simulations (4D), linking to the cost breakdown structure (CBS) to generate costs (5D) or generating asset registers to support Operation and Maintenance (6D) – all supported by standardisation of the data embedded in our models.
